Approximately 70% of those over 65 years old are going to need some type of long-term care during their lives whether in-home care, assisted living care or nursing home care. Medicare only covers a short hospital stay after which you must either have long-term care insurance in place or roll over to Medicaid. Medicaid will not pay for care unless you have spent down nearly all of your money and property. Many times the people that put the most into the system during their lives have to turn around and give everything they have worked so hard for during their lives back. Americans should be able to work hard, gain money, property and create a better life for their children and grandchildren. We believe firmly in the individual’s right to control their money and property and leave a legacy for their families. We believe in making sure that seniors are not stripped of their dignity.
