Welcoming Antony Robreño to the McIntyre Elder Law Team
We have some incredibly exciting news to share at McIntyre Elder Law! We are proud to officially introduce a phenomenal attorney to our Charlotte office: Antony Robreño.
Antony has been working closely with our team and our clients for a while now, and to say we are impressed by the caliber of his legal expertise and character would be an understatement. A graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and a former prosecutor with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, Antony brings a unique perspective, a fierce dedication to advocacy, and a deep-seated passion for helping others.
Beyond his impressive legal background, Antony brings another invaluable skill to our firm: he is fully bilingual. He speaks fluent English and Spanish, allowing McIntyre Elder Law to expand our reach and better serve Spanish-speaking families in our community.
To help you get to know him better, we sat down with Antony to discuss his journey from the criminal justice system to elder law, and why protecting your family’s legacy is so deeply personal to him.

Prosecution to Prevention: A Shift in Purpose
Before joining McIntyre Elder Law, Antony spent his days in the courtroom as a prosecutor, fighting for victims of crime. While he found the work meaningful, he realized he was always entering people’s lives after a tragedy had already occurred.
“I was definitely helping people over at the DA’s office,” Antony explains. “But I felt that we were being reactive. By the time individuals came to us, the worst day of their life had already happened. They had undergone trauma, and we were just trying to help pick up the pieces.”
Antony was drawn to Elder Law because it offers a powerful shift from being reactive to being proactive.
“In Elder Law, you have a great opportunity to prevent a lot of the heartache that comes with end-of-life planning,” says Antony. “We can help people avoid the stress of probate, protect their homes and assets from being depleted by long-term care or Medicaid estate recovery, and ensure that everything they’ve worked hard for over their lives is protected.”
A Personal Connection to the American Dream
For Antony, estate planning isn’t just a legal practice—it’s a personal mission rooted in his own family history.
“My grandparents came over from Cuba and they lost everything,” Antony shares. “They had to leave their home country, not knowing how to speak English, and start entirely anew. I watched them build up their livelihood, their assets, and their lives from nothing.”
Seeing the sacrifices his grandparents made gave Antony a profound respect for hard work and legacy. Fortunately, his grandparents listened to his legal advice and put a comprehensive estate plan in place.
“Understanding how many individuals put in that exact same kind of hard work, and being able to help them protect their livelihood and estates—I feel like that is a very noble cause,” Antony says.
Exercising Your Constitutional Right to Legacy
Passing down what you own—your home, your savings, your property—to the next generation is more than just financial planning. It is a cornerstone of the American dream and the very fabric of our country’s foundation.
Unfortunately, far too many people lose or give up that right simply because they don’t engage in estate planning. The cost of long-term care can be disproportionately high compared to what the average person can save in a lifetime. Without a plan, a lifetime of savings can vanish in a matter of months.
At McIntyre Elder Law, our mission is to expand your opportunities. We help you make smart tax decisions, navigate long-term care costs, and keep what is rightfully yours so you can build generational wealth.
Furthermore, estate planning isn’t just about what happens after you are gone; it’s about taking care of yourself during your life. Putting documents like a Power of Attorney in place ensures that you are protected and that your wishes are respected if health challenges arise.
