Introducing a New Attorney in Our Shelby Office: Anthony Figueroa

At McIntyre Elder Law, growth isn’t just about expanding offices—it’s about bringing in the right people to serve our clients and communities with excellence. We’re proud to introduce the newest addition to our Shelby team, Attorney Anthony Figueroa.

Originally from New Jersey, Anthony brings a unique and powerful background to our firm, including nearly nine years of service in the United States Army, where he worked in special operations in psychological operations. His experience in high-level, high-pressure environments has helped shape the discipline, focus, and strategic thinking he now applies to the practice of law.

A Path from Military Service to Law

Anthony’s journey to becoming an attorney wasn’t a straight line—but it was a purposeful one.

Before and during his military service, he explored a variety of professions. It wasn’t until his time in the Army—working alongside attorneys during deployments—that he began to see the impact legal professionals could have.

“I realized the attorneys had a major influence on what we could do operationally,” Anthony shared. “I knew I didn’t want to stay in the military long-term, but I wanted to have that same kind of impact back home in my community.”

That realization led him to law school, where he found a natural fit.

From the Field to the Classroom

Transitioning from military life to law school came with its challenges. Anthony entered law school just months after his final deployment, shifting from a structured, mission-driven environment into academia.

Despite the culture shock, he quickly found his footing.

“I treated law school like a full-time job,” he explained. “Once I approached it that way, it became manageable—and even enjoyable.”

His disciplined mindset and ability to stay focused helped him succeed in an environment many find overwhelming.

Anthony’s background has uniquely prepared him for this work.

As one of our attorneys noted, success in this field requires the ability to stay grounded, think clearly, and find practical solutions—even in complicated or emotionally charged situations. Anthony has demonstrated those qualities from day one.

Anthony is now working out of our Shelby office, where he focuses on estate planning, elder law, and litigation. He’s already making a positive impression on both clients and team members.
